A lifelong creative, Maryfrances Carter is a ceramic artist based in Hickory, North Carolina. Drawing inspiration from the world around her, she strives for a balance between beauty and function with each of her pieces.

Each mug is brought to life from a white stoneware clay thrown on the wheel. A minimal handle is then added, before the mug undergoes the first of two firings in a kiln. Once the mugs cool, they are adorned with hand-drawn designs, dipped in a clear glaze, and fired for the last time at 2232 degrees Fahrenheit. These indigo and white pieces are ready to be used daily and loved for a lifetime.

All cups are dishwasher and microwave safe, but as with anything handmade, it is more loving to wash them by hand. All glazes are lead-free and dinnerware safe.

No two items are exactly alike, as every piece is handmade and thus one-of-a-kind. It will take 4-5 weeks to throw, trim, hand draw, fire twice, and ship.
