Silk Velvet Pillow by Flora Obscura

Alison Kelly creates fine functional textiles under the name Flora Obscura. She decorates plain white cloths with leaves and flowers, then tightly binds them to be heated in an alchemical steaming process. As a result, the shadow, detailing and pigmentation of the flora becomes directly transmuted into the cloth. Dynamic and singular, Flora Obscura’s one-of-a-kind botanical textiles are then transformed into whimsical apparel and home goods, all strategically cut from zero-waste design templates. The line’s timeless rectangular silhouettes are an ideal template for displaying the harmony and discord of each uniquely flower-dyed fabric.
