Poppy Painted Composition

This piece is from the Swatch Series, a grouping of artworks painted by Meg Gleason. This series uses heavily textured paints made from unique colors within the Moglea collection. The paintings function as a visual catalog of all of the colors we use within the Moglea line. Meg creates a shape based upon the emotion behind each color. Many of the compositions here are “recycled”, meaning most of the Swatch Series is painted on already painted canvases, breathing new life into an object that needed it. Likewise, when we add color to anything, we breathe life and rejuvenation into some-thing that was possibly unremarkable.

Meg is the creative director of the paper line for Moglea. As an artist and designer, she primarily focuses on bringing a sense of happenstance and delight to the Moglea line. Each piece, whether a one-of-a-kind paper good within the core line or a piece like this, is a careful extension of Meg’s overall vision for Moglea. Anything Moglea should always please the aesthetic senses with color, composition, and a sense of movement.
